I nostri amici si sono appena incontrati; dentino e il misterioso signore che fuma sono i protagonisti principali delle nostre avventure. Come potete notare dentino ha una “piccola” caratteristica che denota l’origine del suo nome, il quale sembra non essere molto “gradito” dal signore con la sigaretta! Fatte le dovute presentazioni passiamo alla descrizione della striscia; uno delle cose che mi ha fatto più pensare è stata l’assegnazione di un nome inglese che potesse essere innanzitutto divertente, ma che nello stesso tempo potesse avere una sorta di “continuità logica” con la versione italiana. Dentino come poteva essere tradotto in modo buffo? Little tooth? Bah, non mi sembrava il caso… alla fine ho optato per “Theethy”, una sorta di storpiatura della parola “dente”, la quale sotto un certo punto di vista suonava anche tenera… e fu così che il primo personaggio ebbe un nome inglese! Per quanto riguarda la versione cinese, è innegabile che andando a mostrare storie nate all’interno di un certo linguaggio e cultura occorra a volte adattare lo stesso al nuovo contesto. I motivi possono essere molteplici, principalmente modi dire del normale parlato “da strada” totalmente diversi, ma anche cose che per noi possono essere accettate come divertenti, in un’altra cultura possono facilmente rivelarsi non così buffe, a volte persino offensive. I fumetti pandafamily in cinese rispecchieranno questa situazione, per cui potrebbe essere che certe espressioni non siano tradotte letteralmente ma adattate al nuovo contesto.

Our friends just met each other; Theethy and the mysterious smoking man are the main characters of these comics. As you can see, Theethy has a “little” attribute that shows the source of his name, name that is not so welcome by the mysterious man! Let’s talk about Chinese version; it’s undeniable that going to show histories born into a certain language and culture is necessary to suit the same for the new context. Motives can be manifold, mainly: ways to say from the normal spoken “from road” totally different but also things that sounds funny for us, can not to be so funny into another culture, sometimes even offensive. Chinese pandafamily strips will mirror this situation, for which certain expressions are not literally translated but suit for the new context.

我们的两位漫画主角朋友正式登场相遇了！没错，这个长着三颗大龅牙、总是胡言乱语的小朋友牙牙和那个总爱叼着烟装酷的家伙雪茄(小牙牙因此叫他大烟哥) 就是咱们简体漫画的主角！牙牙，名如其人，正在跟雪茄哥介绍着自己和他的名字，虽然这位神秘的大烟哥并不怎么喜欢这个滑稽的名字！

如你们所见到的，这两位有着各自的英文名、中文名和意大利文名，当然所有名字都和它们简单又独特的形象相关，并且结合了不同语言下的起名特点。说实话， 这些翻译虽然看起来简单且不尽完美，但还真是耗费了不少精力，因为需要形意相通又各有特点，相当考究。一种语言和文化背景下的故事一旦换了一种语言，容易显得生涩，形好表达神却难，一种语言环境下的轻松幽默换到另一种语言环境里可能不但不好笑而且还会显得粗鲁甚至挑衅，就像给欧美人看周星驰也许会显得无趣无聊一样。所以也许有时候你看到中文版和英文版说的可能不一样，翻译并不完全一致，但请相信这两个逗趣的家伙正在三种不同的语言文化环境中以最地道的方式独立成长！他们在不同的语言环境中也有着不同的方式表达，而我们，只是在尽力跳出形而保留神，当然如果你有更好的方式和建议，欢迎随时与我们交流！
